About Course

This course explores Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography (OCTA) — a non-invasive, dye-free imaging modality that has transformed the diagnosis and management of retinal vascular diseases.

Through detailed imaging of the retinal and choroidal vasculature, OCTA enables clinicians to visualize blood flow and structural changes simultaneously, offering insights into early pathological alterations that are often invisible with traditional fluorescein angiography (FA). The course emphasizes clinical interpretation of OCTA findings in a range of retinal disorders and how to apply this knowledge in practice.

What Will You Learn?

  • The principles and advantages of OCTA over traditional imaging techniques
  • OCTA findings in Diabetic Retinopathy (DR): FAZ enlargement, microaneurysms, non-perfusion areas, neovascularization
  • Retinal Vascular Occlusions: CRVO, BRVO, CRAO, BRAO – with identification of ischemic zones
  • Polypoidal Choroidal Vasculopathy (PCV): Recognition of branching vascular networks and polyps
  • Central Serous Chorioretinopathy (CSCR): Detection of secondary CNV
  • Inherited Fundus Dystrophies: Microvascular changes in Stargardt’s, Vitelliform dystrophy
  • Neovascular AMD (nAMD): Morphologic characterization of CNVMs (Type 1–4)
  • Sickle Cell Disease: Capillary dropout in superficial and deep plexuses
  • How to use wide-field montage OCTA for extended vascular assessment
  • Quantitative measurements and segmentation of superficial and deep capillary plexuses
  • Limitations and artifacts of OCTA in challenging clinical scenarios
