About Course

This course offers a comprehensive and clinically grounded approach to understanding, diagnosing, and managing glaucoma — a chronic, progressive optic neuropathy that can lead to irreversible blindness. You’ll explore the pathophysiology, diagnostic workflow, and modern imaging techniques including OCT and OCTA, with a strong emphasis on optic nerve evaluation and risk assessment.

The course bridges foundational concepts with real-world clinical tools, helping learners develop confidence in interpreting complex cases and applying evidence-based treatment strategies.

What Will You Learn?

  • Understand the definition and underlying mechanisms of glaucomatous optic nerve damage.
  • Identify risk factors and learn how to take a comprehensive patient history.
  • Learn the goals of glaucoma management, including:
  • Disease staging
  • Establishing target IOP
  • Treatment planning
  • Master the use of key diagnostic tools:
  • Visual Field (VF) interpretation, patterns, and global indices (MD)
  • Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT): including ONH, NFLT, GCC, and MRW
  • Conduct detailed optic disc assessments, including the 8 essential parameters such as:
  • Disc size, NRR, cup symmetry, hemorrhages, peripapillary atrophy, etc.
  • Get introduced to emerging technologies like:
  • OCT-Angiography (OCT-A) for vascular mapping
